Glogster
Reflection:
In class we did a jigsaw project
which split us up into three different groups with 4-5 people in each group.
Each person was assigned a different app to dive into and gather information to
bring back to our original groups. I was assigned glogster an interactive poster
site. Glogster allows for students to make a poster that all can interact with,
video, audio, and pictures can all be uploaded to the glogster. This project
allowed for every student to learn about the different applications from
another students point of view. I believe the interaction between students
helped focus the class.
While
using glogster I enjoyed that it was easy to start and could be done for free.
The only part that my group found difficult was getting audio to work on the
glogster itself. The audio would import into the site but once the glogster was
saved would not work. We solved the problem by adding smaller videos to the
bottom where the audio would have been. This still allowed for audio to be used
but in a different way. Another aspect of glogster that I enjoyed was being able
to collaborate the audio, video, and pictures to match, this allows for
different learning styles to interact with the glogster.
As a
teacher candidate I would use glogster in my classroom. Each student would get
the opportunity to show their work and understanding of a topic in a creative
way. Once the students make the glogster they then can present the glogster to
the rest of the class. The presenting of the information will help with social
skills while the making of the glogster helps with learning. Each student has
their own way of learning and I believe glogster is an excellent tool.
