Lesson Plan using Technology
A smartboard lesson and Ipad will assist the lesson plan being delivered.
Reflection:
During this assignment each student was encouraged to make a lesson plan using technology. We could use a lesson plan that had already been written and adapt it to the Nets standards and add technology, or we could make the lesson plan ourselves. I chose to make my lesson plan myself to incorporate all the levels of money that I wanted. In this lesson plan the smartboard is used in assessing the students ability to count money and "purchase" items. After the interactive lesson on the smartboard each student is given an opportunity to play a game on the Ipad to encourage money counting and understanding.
This assignment taught me how to encourage the use of technology in my lesson plans. Lesson plans can be solid without technology but the use of technology can help to enhance the learning opportunity. In the special education field many students can use technology in accommodating their special needs. I also learned that making a lesson plan has to focus on every learning type in the classroom and not just the easiest one to target. Most students find technology fun and this leads them to believe that learning can be fun also. Learning can be fun as long as the teacher knows how to properly use technology in their lesson plans!
